Can You Remove a Reddit Post? What Is Actually Possible
It is the first question every brand asks when a bad thread appears: can I just get it taken down? The honest answer is usually no, and understanding why saves you from expensive mistakes.
What you cannot do
You cannot delete another person's post or comment. Only the author or a moderator can remove it, and moderators will not remove honest criticism just because a brand asks. There is no button, and there is no legitimate service that guarantees otherwise.
What you can do
You can delete your own posts and comments. You can report content that genuinely breaks Reddit's rules, such as doxxing, threats, or clearly false and defamatory claims, to the moderators and to Reddit admins. Sometimes that gets rule-breaking content removed. Honest negative opinion is not rule-breaking, so it stays.
Why removal services are a trap
Anyone promising guaranteed removals is usually planning to mass-report, manipulate votes, or use fake accounts. If it works at all it is temporary, and if it is discovered the story becomes about your brand cheating, which is far worse than one critical thread.
What to do instead
Outrank it. Build genuine, useful threads and a real presence so Google and AI have better material to show for your name. Respond honestly on the original where it helps. Reputation on Reddit is earned down, not deleted away. If you want this handled properly, a white-hat agency like Upvote Labs does it without the shortcuts.
